Rick grew up in Louisville Kentucky and
entered the Marine Corps after graduating high school in
1974. While in the Marines he was an Aviation Ordnance
Technician performing maintenance,
troubleshooting, and handling of the electronic systems,
components, and hardware incorporated into the ordinance
systems of the McDonald Douglas F4-J “Phantom.”
He held a Top Secret Security Clearance throughout his tour.
He
received a National Defense Campaign Medal in 1974, a
Good Conduct Medal, and an Honorable Discharge in 1978.
He then moved to Texas for a few years while working for
the Department of Energy at a Strategic Petroleum
Reserve site as a security supervisor.

He returned to Louisville to attend the
Kentucky College of Technology where he received an
Associate Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology
in the fall of 1986. He moved to Cincinnati Ohio in
February 1987 and went to work for Cincinnati Milacron
Electronic Systems Division as an electronics service
technician. While working at Cincinnati Milacron he
received Milacron courses on the Acramatic Big Blue CNC, Maximiser
PLC, A900, A850, A850SX, and the A2100 control systems.
He was then hired by Cincinnati Milacron Inc. as a Technical Support and Field Service
Engineer in 1995. In this role Rick traveled
throughout all of America, Canada, and Mexico “getting
it fixed”.

In 2000 Siemens purchased the
Electronic Systems division and Rick was sent to Europe to attend
school in Nuremberg, Germany. He received in-depth
training of the Siemens 840D control, S7-300 and 400 PLC’s, 611 drives, and Safety Integration. On his return
from Germany he was selected as a Senior Service and
Support Engineer, assigned as an on-site Product
Support Engineer for an Automotive OEM project where he delivered product support of all Siemens plant content
including product types from all product groups:
(Hardware included 840D CNC, S7-300 PLC, ET200X, ET200S,
ET200M, LOGO processor, 611D, 611U, Simatic Panel PC's,
Simatic OP Panels, Simatic MP Panels, Software included
HMI Advanced, Step 7 software, ProTool Pro,
Pdiag, Transline 2000, PLC Sim, WinAc RTX, WinLC). Due
to project downsizing he left Siemens in the spring of
2004.

He started Rick’s CNC Service in the spring of 2004.

Rick is an avid SCUBA Diver. He started
diving in 1995, became a DiveMaster in 2001, and has since attended the ProDive IDC course in Fort
Lauderdale Florida in the spring of 2004, where he
completed the PADI Open Water SCUBA Instructor course as
well as the Emergency First Response Instructor (CPR/AED/First
Aid) course. Since 2001 he has assisted with or directly
trained over 350 students.

it fixed” you will find him passing on his love of the
underwater world by teaching someone how to SCUBA dive.
